“ Wonder Food Bakery has the best pineapple buns! I also love their sponge cakes and eggs tarts. Get there nice and early to get the goodies fresh off the oven. Also, my dad always makes a special request for their cookies aka little chicken cookies in canto because theres no equivalent in San Diego. ”
“ Highly recommend the fruit filled cake! I ordered this cake for a friends birthday. The cake itself was outstanding light and airy white cake, tropical fruit filled lychee and pineapple! with a delicious whipped frosting. Neither the cake nor frosting were too sweet the perfect, light sweetness level. And the shop worked with me on the colors I wanted for the decoration. I ate so much cake, the party guests loved it, and I couldnt be happier! 1010! ”
“ unassuming front. where else can you get 3 for 2.50? unbelievably fluffy buns with an incredible glaze on top, sausages thicccccc. tried a taro and the cookie was so crispy and flaky id probably pass on the taro filling next time tho and just get the og bun! awww yea ”
“ nothing beats the 5 pineapple buns for 2.75. i also came back for the lao po bing. such a steal! ”
“ Not just a hole in the way actually looks like a building under construction. Anyway, great pastries and bread, fairly priced. The employees are always really nice to me when I stop by on the way home. ”
“ Cash only pastries shop. It is interesting chinese cake and pastries shop. From outside you wont know itvis a cake shop as it looks a bit run down. I feel like I am back to my childhood when I saw so many pastries which I had when I was a kid and the taste is still the same. I bought some home and had some at the store. The husband and wife baked cake are authentic. The worker is friendly but mostly cannot speak English well but cantonese. ”
“ Delicious and cheap, what more could you ask for? I recommend the taro and coconut breads. although as a big taro fan, I could always do with more of the purple filling! Overall, texture was great, sweetness level was perfect, and the price didnt stop me from buying plenty for all my friends as well. Pork buns can be reheated in a toaster oven, but they all tasted best fresh from the store!! Places like these make it easy to support our local Chinatown in this time! ”
“ Ive been going here since the 80s. Their cocktail bun, pineapple bun, and egg tarts are awesome. Im so glad theyre still around. ”
